Dogfish Complete Weekend Sweep
The Iowa Dogfish showcased their firepower this past weekend, securing two decisive victories against the South Bend Shamrocks at the ImOn Ice Arena. The back-to-back wins on Friday and Saturday improve the Dogfish's season record to 4-3.
The weekend doubleheader was a lopsided affair from the start. In the first contest, the Dogfish overwhelmed the Shamrocks with a final score of 19-7. The victory was a total team effort, with multiple players delivering standout performances. Xavier Howard (#54) led the charge, finding the back of the net an incredible six times while also adding an assist. He was followed closely by Jake Pappas (#12), who contributed four goals and one assist, and Owen Roenneburg (#6), who tallied a hat trick with three goals and an assist. Colin Livesay (#68) and Joe Burns (#72) also had multi-point games, each recording two goals and two assists.
The Dogfish continued their dominance in the second game, cruising to a 15-4 victory over the visiting Shamrocks. Jake Pappas (#12) had another stellar night, pouring in six goals and adding an assist to his weekend total. Josh Henneberry (#95) notched a hat trick with three goals, while Michael Jango (#0) and Xavier Howard (#54) each contributed a goal and an assist to seal the convincing win.
Riding a two-game winning streak, the Dogfish will look to continue their success when they return home on August 10 to host the Naperville Bobcats.
