Dogfish Start 2025 ALL Senior Season Strong

Cedar Rapids, IA – The Iowa Dogfish opened their 2025 American Lacrosse League (ALL) Senior Season with a promising home stand this past weekend, hosting three thrilling games at the ImOn Ice Arena in Cedar Rapids. After a weekend of intense competition, the Dogfish emerged with two impressive victories, setting a positive tone for the season ahead.

The Dogfish faced a challenging start on Friday, June 21st, in their season opener against the Milwaukee Muskies. Despite a valiant effort, Iowa fell to the Muskies with a final score of 10-4. Goals for the Dogfish were contributed by #68 Colin Livesay#24 Max Cary#12 Jake Pappas, and #0 Michael Jango.

Later that same day, the Dogfish rallied for their second game, squaring off against the Omaha Rebels. In a nail-biting contest that went down to a shootout, the Dogfish showcased their resilience, securing a dramatic 9-8 victory. Key offensive performances came from #0 Michael Jango#14 Owen Essay, and #19 Tucker La Belle, each tallying two goals and one assist. #6 Owen Roenneberg and #12 Jake Pappas also added crucial goals to the Dogfish's score sheet. In the shootout, goalie Resse Kinzig made a huge save that ultimately sealed the game.

Carrying their momentum into Saturday, June 22nd, the Dogfish once again clashed with the Omaha Rebels and delivered another dominant performance, securing a convincing 9-3 win. The offense was firing on all cylinders, with #65 Michael Shakerin and #0 Michael Jango each netting a pair of goals. #14 Owen Essay demonstrated his playmaking ability with a goal and two assists, while #12 Jake Pappas#19 Tucker La Belle, and #61 Braeden Conwell each contributed a goal and an assist.
