Dogfish Struggle in Kansas City

The Iowa Dogfish traveled to Kansas City this past weekend for a two-game series against the Smoke, but unfortunately returned home still in pursuit of their first victory of the season. Following up a slow start to the year, the Dogfish dropped both contests, losing 13-7 on Saturday and 9-7 on Sunday.

On Saturday, June 28th, the Dogfish struggled to keep pace with the home team. Despite their efforts, they were unable to overcome an early deficit and ultimately fell to the Kansas City Smoke by a score of 13-7.

Hoping to bounce back and earn a split in the series, Iowa took the floor again on Sunday, June 29th. The team showed marked improvement in a much closer game. It was a hard-fought battle, but the Dogfish could not do enough to secure the win, narrowly losing the rematch 9-7.

While the weekend's results were not what the team had hoped for, the Dogfish remain resilient. The team is confident that they have the skill and drive to turn their season around. With a full season still ahead, the team is focused on putting these early losses behind them, continuing to work hard, and capturing that elusive first win to build toward a successful year.
